Community healthcare and medical research

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a complex neurological condition that affects more than 35,000 Australians, and research continues to play an important role in improving understanding, treatment and care. In May 2026, I-MED will donate $5 from every eligible MS-related scan to MS Australia to help support vital MS research.

We are also proud to support community healthcare initiatives and medical research that improve outcomes for Australians. This includes our ongoing support of the McGrath Foundation and the vital care their Cancer Care Nurses provide to individuals and families facing cancer, as well as Breast Cancer Trials, which helps advance new treatments and prevention strategies. During last year’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month campaign, our teams also came together to raise more than $40,000 in support of this important work.

Community Sponsorship (RAB)

Giving back to the community is an important goal for I-MED. Since 2018, we've proudly partnered with Radiology Across Borders (RAB) to support their invaluable work providing radiology training to local doctors in developing nations. Through this partnership, we've played a key role in initiatives like the First Nations UNITY project, an endeavour launched in 2024 which is aimed at enhancing healthcare access for Australia's Indigenous communities.

Radiology Across Borders is dedicated to empowering healthcare professionals with essential skills and knowledge, leading to better diagnostic outcomes for patients. With on-site training, lectures, online modules and infrastructure development such as teleradiology services, RAB makes a significant impact in underserved regions. Together with RAB, we're committed to making a positive difference in healthcare access and outcomes for communities nationally and in the Asia Pacific region.

Workplace Giving

The I-MED Helping Hands Workplace Giving Program enables affordable staff giving through a transparent and trustworthy payroll donation program. Through this program our staff can chose to donate to our workplace giving charity partners: beyondblue, Leukaemia Foundation, Make-a-Wish Foundation, McGrath Foundation, The Smith Family, Mission Australia, Cancer Council, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and the RSPCA.

Providing imaging services to those in need

In Queensland we provide imaging services free of charge to patients – generally children – from various parts of Asia suffering from severe facial deformities. They are brought to Brisbane for treatment by Rotary.

Further north, we send expert teams and equipment into remote indigenous communities in Arnhem Land to see to local diagnostic imaging needs. This is a vital service for people who, through the tyranny of distance, lack access to the best medical care.
