About Dr Maxwell Howcroft
Dr Howcroft is a general radiologist with special interests in musculoskeletal radiology, neuroradiology, and image guided injections. He is also a registered CT coronary angiography specialist and reports for the National Lung Cancer Screening Program.
Max graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Tasmania and undertook radiology training at the Royal Hobart Hospital and Perth Children’s Hospital, earning his RANZCR fellowship in 2024.
He further specialised with a fellowship in musculoskeletal radiology at Calvary Hospital I-MED Tasmania in 2025.
Max has been active in research at various stages, including winning the best research presentation at the state meeting when he was a trainee. He currently serves as the secretary for the Tasmanian Branch of RANZCR and was previously an elected member of the Trainee Committee.
