About Dr Dan Hilton

Dr John (Dan) Hilton is a fellowship-trained interventional neuroradiologist who completed his radiology training at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. Following specialist qualification in diagnostic radiology, he undertook advanced fellowships in General Interventional Radiology and Advanced Cardiac Imaging at St Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver, British Columbia. He subsequently completed a fellowship in Interventional Neuroradiology at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. 

Dr Hilton holds Interventional Neuroradiology accreditation through the Conjoint Committee of Interventional Neuroradiology (CCINR). 

His clinical practice is predominantly focused on neurointerventional procedures, with particular expertise in the endovascular treatment of intracranial aneurysms, dural arteriovenous fistulas, and mechanical thrombectomy for acute ischaemic stroke. He also has a strong interest in spinal interventions and middle meningeal artery embolisation for the management of chronic subdural haemorrhage. 

Dr Hilton led the establishment of neurointerventional services at I-MED Radiology’s Wesley Hospital site, where he played a key role in developing protocols and training multidisciplinary staff to deliver safe and effective care for patients requiring complex neurointerventional procedures.
